i've lost the feature that allows me to double click on a file (or even an iCal events and to do) to open it without having to open the app. could it be that i downloaded an online app (blurb.com)? but i think it started a couple of days before that. for example, even when i open acrobat reader app, and go to file, open, the jpg files (and others) are grayed out and not available. the only way i can do it is to click on the file name or icon and do "command / o". how do i get my files to open by just double clicking?
QUOTE Thanks

First, check in System Preferences > Keyboard and Mouse > Mouse
See if your double click speed is real high or real low. Mine is set to a couple of "tick marks" to the faster side of the center.

If that's not it, maybe something is wrong in the Finder's plist file. To "clear" it:

Go here: HD/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences

And drag this file com.apple.finder.plist to the Desktop

Restart the computer. This will create a new file set to default values.

Try to double-click a file now. Does it open?
QUOTE Thanks
