Having had my nice new iMac all of ten seconds ive already messed it up by download some stupid software I didnt actually need and now i cant get rid of it

I have tried dragging it to my trash and emptying trash but I says that it is in use so i cant trash it. I have the icon in my dock as well which I can not drag to trash.

I have tried to find an answer on the net and it seems others have had this problem but I could find a solution.

Please please help

New & frustrated Mac user, Corinne.

You have to quit the app before you can trash it. Can't be trashed while it's still running.

I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.
In the Windows world, most everything folks don't understand is called a virus.

Click on the icon in thew Dock which brings it to the desktop, go to the Menu Bar and select Quit. That closes the application and then use the uninstaller.

If no uninstaller try AppDelete, AppTrap or similar.

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
