Hi All,
Does anyone know of any apps or ways to prevent the OS from sleeping while streaming video? I'm using MediaLink as my PS3 Media Server and would like to prevent the OS from sleeping while I'm watching a video. When I'm done I'd like the OS to sleep if say i don't stream anything for say 15 mins (my current OS sleep configured time). Please DON'T suggest the following: - Set OS to never sleep (I don't want to do this, I want sleep on just not when I'm streaming video/music etc.) - Use a different media server (I like media link) - Use Caffeine (or similar app) - Again I don't want to completely prevent my mac from sleeping. Thanks. |

Caffeine can be deactivated from the menu bar with a single click so it could just be the solution to your problem you know... just use it when you need it.
If you have a laptop, you can set your system to never go to sleep when it is connected to the power adapter, and use entirely different settings for when it is on battery mode. That way you have a way to quickly change to sleepless and sleepy mode simply by pulling the power chord. |
