Audio Hijack Pro is not $70, it's $32, and well worth it. Not too many other options to be honest.

If you really want to record for free,
#1 Download and install: Soundflower – Cycling 74
#2 Download: Download Audacity for Mac - Audio recording, editing & mixing tool. MacUpdate.com
#2 In System Preferences under sound, set the output to SoundFlower 16 (CH)
#4 Open Audacity and open the preferences. In the Devices tab: Recording device: SoundFlower 16 (CH)
Any new recordings will now get the sound from SoundFlower, downside… you can't hear the audio durning all this.
