I wasn't sure which part of the forum to put this in. If this needs moved let me know.

I did a audio recording for a friend at school on my phone. I went to try and get the file off my phone to find out its in a PCM file format. I tried to google this and nothing has really helped me at all. Can anyone here help me with this?

there is an app called AIFF from PCM, but its massively buggy, it worked for me after about 4 attempts. this was the only way i found after extensive googling.

I reckon that ffmpegx would be able to convert this.
It supports PCM as in input format, and will convert to MP3. Well worth a try, it's free.

ffmpegX a DVD, SVCD, VCD, CVD, VOB, DivX, XviD, H.264, PSP, iPod, MP4, MOV, FLV encoder for Mac OSX
