iPad safari can't add more bookmarks

I have quite a few bookmarks in safari on my iPad. Never had any problems. Just tried to add a new bookmark and it is not adding. Nothing happens. Is there a limit to the number of bookmarks I can have? I tried google and search this forum for an explanation but haven't found anything. Help please!

Anybody please help! I have the same problem and it is driving me mad. I have searched and searched and cannot find a solution
