I have been trying to decided between using Apple Mail or Microsoft Entourage for IMAP with my Gmail account. I've also been trying to find the optimal settings for general use each one. Are there better ones?

Which one do you use, and why? And where can I find the what you think are the best suggestions for settings (there are several sites offering settings suggestions). I have a feeling that Gmail's suggestion for settings might not necessarily be the best.

thanks! Kevin

Either Apple Mail or Microsoft Outlook for Mac. Avoid entourage.

Gmail settings can be pretty funky: it took me ages to find some settings I'm happy with, so I'd suggest you go with the recommended setup and see how that works for you.

Apple Mail app. Works flawlessly and never had any issues. Simple setup - less than 2 minutes.

16GB iPhone 5, 64GB Wi-Fi only iPad 1st Gen.

Apple Mail, i think, is more practical and easy to use. But, still, somethings you could prefer Outlook instead, but it's a personal decision. I tried Outlook on Mac, because i use it on my Windows Desktop, but i went for Mail without any regrets.
