How can I get this game to work?
I have a MacBook Pro (2.66Ghz, bought it in June) and am trying to get a game, Homeworld 2, to work on it. The game says "Mac" but it's a bit older. Here are the specs:

    Mac 0S X 10.2.8 or later
    PowerPC G4/G5, 800MHz or faster
    256MB RAM (512MB recommended)
    1.0 GB free disk space
    3D Graphics Acceleration required
(ATI Radeon 7500/nVidia GeForce 2 or better)

For some reason the game won't start up. Could it be that I have a newer processor that isn't compatible?

Have you installed Rosetta from the SL disk?
Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!

I don't think so... Could you elaborate? I don't know too much about computer stuff.

The problem is you have an Intel-based MacBook Pro...and the game was originally written for an older PPC cpu based Macintosh. As Harry suggested...you need to install "Rosetta" from your Snow Leopard install disk to enable the game to run.

    Aha... Thanks for the advice!

Will it automatically run once Rosetta is installed, or is there more stuff I'll need to do (e.g.: open a program)?

EDIT: I have 2 CDs here: "Mac OS X Install DVD" and "Applications Install DVD." Are either of these the ones I need?

"Still not working"...does this mean you did install "Rosetta"...and the game will not run?...(since your post really wasn't very clear on this point).

If you did install Rosetta...and the game still won't run...search the internet for an updater file for Homeworld 2. This might help.
