    Question Changing dates in iCal
Got a 21.5" iMac running Snow Leopard (10.6.5). For some reason, in iCal and Address Book, I am not able to change dates. When editing a record, I am able to select and modify the field for the month and the year, but not the date. The date is set at "05" and cannot be changed. That is, I cannot -- with either the mouse or by using the keyboard to TAB over -- select the field that changes the date. This applies to the date of the date of the event, the date the event should end (for a repeating event) in iCal and for birthdays in Address Book. Can anybody tell me why this might be so and how I might fix it?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You mean the "From" and "To" lines after you've gotten into the Edit window?

If so, can't say why. Fix it? Maybe a "rebuilt" iCal plist file??

    Specs:
    2012 13" MBP (2.5 i5, 8GB)
Drag com.apple.iCal.plist from <your user directory>/Library/Preferences/ to the desktop (or anywhere outside of that directory) and restart iCal. This will force iCal to generate a new preference file.

Well, sounded like a good idea. Thanks for the help. Unfortunately, it didn't work. Any other ideas?

Sure. Log in under a different user account. Then test iCal.

Always try the easy things first!

I think I figured it out. Playing around with other things, I realised the problem was not isolated to iCal and Address Book. It had to do with my Date and Time settings. Hope everything is working now.
