First off I'm using a MBP Intel i5
OS 10.6.5

I am having issues when trying to download files using Firefox or Google Chrome. The only browser that allows me to download .dmg or .zip files is Safari. I've gone to the Mozilla site and followed their advice but still no change.

I would like to use Firefox, however I'm unable to download anything, except for .pdf for some reason I'm able to download these.

Any advice.

Thanks in advance

Any error messages? What exactly happens when you click on the link to download?

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

Welcome to Mac-Forums
Try checking the paths that the other browsers are trying to download to. Try changing those paths and re-download something. Without any other information like what actually happens when you try to download something we can't really help you much more.

The download is corrupt, redownload. Also, please take your email address out of your post, that's not how discussion forums work and will invite spam.

Try re-downloading it, sounds like a damaged/ corrupt file, or try a different source for downloading it.

Can you elaborate just a bit? What exactly are the "issues"? What kinds of files are you having trouble downloading?

What issues are you having, sorry but can't help unless you provide more information than "issues".

If you've installed any sort of download manager and then uninstalled it, you've likely done so incorrectly. If this is indeed the case, re-install it and make sure to use the included uninstaller. It's amazing how often issues that have to do with the inability to download files are caused by improperly uninstalled download managers.
