It usually depends on the game you are playing. If the games are Source based like Portal, TF2 etc - then you have to go to settings -> enable the console. You can push the ~ to bring up the console. Type in the command
for realtime cl_showfps 1 for average cl_showfps 2 Console Command List - Valve Developer Community |
