I need to know if the following configuration will allow me to write iPhone Apps.

Mac OS X Panther 10.3.9
Power PC G4
256 MB RAM
400 MHZ
120 GB HD

It's an older system someone has sitting around for cheap.

I would want to download the SDK (could I add an internet card?)

iPhone App Development would be the sole purpose of using this machine.
.

I believe you're going to need an Intel machine at the least. You can find more info by going to the Apple Developers Site.

As per the Apple developer site, "To develop with iOS SDK and participate in the iPhone Developer Program you must have an Intel-based Mac running Mac OS X Snow Leopard."
