Hi folks. Maybe a dumb question, but here goes...

My current iTunes application isn't launching. I'm thinking of downloading the most recent version and de-installling my older one. If I do this, will I lose my music library? Will anything else bad happen?

fyi: iMac, OS X.4.11

Just use Software Update, and you will get the latest iTunes version for your OS.

No, your library wont disappear.

The most recent build of iTunes is 9.2.1. If you don't have that, by all means use Software Update to install it. If you do have that, or it doesn't show up in SU, then you can download it manually. No worries about your music library… it will be unaffected.
iTunes 9.2.1

If that doesn't work, then holler back. There's more things to try.

Standing request for all troubleshooting: Please provide your Mac model/year and OS version. Also advise us if you have used or installed any antivirus, security, or "cleaning" software on your Mac. If you have installed MacKeeper in particular, you are hereby advised to uninstall it.
