Hi everyone.
A little while ago I downloaded the Cloak app for mac located here

Download Cloak 1.0 Free - Customize the looks of your Mac - Softpedia

I realize now that anything from softpedia is essentially junk, but I didnt know this at the time.
I tried to change my mac layout to look like lined paper, however nothing happened, except all the icons on my buttons (in webpages, in finder, ichat) have all disappeared, and I also cannot see file names
I have tried trashing the app and rebooting, repairing permissions via disk utility. Nothing works.
Ready to throw it out the window. I hate not knowing what im clicking.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Worst case scenario is just do a fresh install of the OS...or I'll send you my shipping address, and you can send it to me!

Pop in your install DVD which I am sure you will have, reboot, hold down 'C", go into Utilities and run Erase, format Mac OS Extended) Journalled) and do a clean install. Of course this will wipe your dive and hopefully you have a backup of prior to downloading Cloak,.

Suggest if you are challenged, don't go downloading utilities willy nilly.

And, to add to what harry advised, start making backups. A backup can save you lots of work and hair pulling.

Well, it sounds like the problem is just that everything looks funny, but I'm assuming finder still works, so you could probably still backup your photos, music, and documents to an external drive before the clean install.
