Leaving a game during play

Lets say I'm playing Starcraft II and I wanna check my email really quick how do I leave the game and come back to it when I'm done real quick?

Actually I was thinking it would be command +Tab to cycle through the open applications. Alt +Tab doesn't seem to do anything for me. Do I have a weird system setting somewhere?

looks like command + m does the trick because it minimizes the window........lol that took forever to figure out

Thanks I forget about that command. It even almost works in Zuma. It gets back to the desktop OK but when you switch back to the game it seems to be a toss up whether it will work correctly.
