itunes randomly stops playing

I have a relatively new MacBook Pro. After I loaded some of my CD's onto iTunes I noticed that at random points during songs that I would play, the songs would stop, or hesitate. The counter on the song would stop as well. This happens randomly, and when playing any song and a various different times. I downloaded the newest & latest version of iTunes to see if that would solve the issue to no avail. It still does this pretty much on a regular basis.

Any ideas?
