Thanks ahead for any help you might be able to offer.

I recently had to wipe my entire HD clean in order to install Tiger. I backed up my iPhoto library to my iPod, then did the deed.

the problem is that when I tried to put the photos back onto my HD after the clean install, iPhoto recognizes the libraries i had (i.e. 1999, 2000, 2001, etc) but it doesn't bring in the photos. if I try to bring in an individual photo, or a group via "Add to Library" i get a error message saying:

"Unreadable file. The following files could not be imported (they may be an unrecognized file type or the files may not contain valid data)."

I can open any of the files in Preview or Photoshop... so I'm wondering what gives?

Any ideas? I think i'll kill myself if I have to Save each file individually in photoshop and re-import them without the date/info.
QUOTE Thanks

i think that you might have to do that because even though it recognises the database format its not going to have anything in its own reference file so that could be the reason why it says that the file is unreadable?

Im going to say that this is my reasoned explanation for it but then again it might be a load of horse
