Cannot see new contacts added to address group in mail

I have a distribution group in my address book and have added two new entries to it by dragging from my All Contacts list.

If I highlight the group, I see 9 contacts.

When I try to email the group using Mail, I can only see 7 contacts instead of 9. The new contacts aren't visible.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I've created a new test group, put in some contacts, but cannot see this group when looking at the address book in Mail.

Restart Mail, restart Address Book.

Doh! Why didn't I try that? Strangely enough, it works if you copy and paste the contact but not drag.
