Change the open directory in Word

Mac Office for Word provides the instruction for changing the current directory using code only I cannot get it to work.

the following i the code I am using which does not do anything other than open at the last directory i was using.

Options.DefaultFilePath(wdDocumentsPath) = "Macintosh HD:Users:mitch:documents:general:legal:"
Dialogs(wdDialogFileOpen).Show

any suggestions very much appreciated thanks
