This is probably the dumbest question ever, and I'm 90% sure they would, but I have to ask because my wife is thinking of downloading a $45 app and she doesn't have an iPhone or iTouch yet.

If it's worth doing, it's worth OVERdoing.

No, unless you use the iPhone simulator which is only meant for testing and developing iPhone/iTouch apps. What app is it? There may be a Mac equivalent.

I don't know of any equivalents partly because I don't really know what that apps is for (exam prep for medical licensing?). I'll let someone more knowledgeable recommend an app for you if there is an equivalent.
