I was just wondering if there was a way to block all the useless ads that pop up out of nowhere

In Safari, try clicking on Safari in the menu, then put a check next to Block Pop-up Windows.

I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.
In the Windows world, most everything folks don't understand is called a virus.

And in Firefox there's Adblock Plus as well as a slightly different add on called NoScript. The latter you have to be a bit careful with as it can cut off things you may need to use. It's not dangerous, but you should read the FAQ,s before making any global changes with it.

That said, they're both extremely useful. Firefox also has built in popup blocking and is configurable.

Doug.
