Glad this got sorted out. Limewire is a big no no. If you really want an app like that, check out Acquisition.

Interesting, your comment about L'wire. Have you had bad experience with it, and in what way?

For my part, I use it only occasionally, because it seems to take forever to link with its various servers, but once it's going, I have very few problems with it. Mind you, I'm still using an older version (4.18.x), and I have no interest in updating it.

I know of horror experiences for Win/Limewire users, but very few for Mac.

I'm leaving now to go and find myself. If I should return before I get back, please ask me to wait.

Well back in the day, when I used it quite a lot, and on my old iMac with Jaguar, it caused endless kernel panics, mainly due to node errors and the like.
Now this was probably in the early days of Limewire, but it certainly was the cause.
That's why I changed to Acquisition, which never caused a single problem.
I can only suspect that Limewire was very badly written for Mac at the start, as it was a Windows program to start with.
Acquisition was solely a Mac app, so designed for the job I guess.
