I find the cursor movement in vi windows is quite sluggish. I vi the same text file on a linux machine and on a MBP with 10.6.2 and press the down arrows to let them do a simple race, it seems vi in MBP is probably 2 times slower. Since I have used vi in my whole life, so I was able to feel the pain when I first switch to mac. I won't be able to use Mac
comfortably without first solveing the problem.

Any comments ? Thanks ! I have used Linux for more than 10 years, so don't be afraid to ask to me to try out crazy ideas.

Does

sudo port install vim

help ?
( I cannot try it now since MBP is in the office drawer!)

I suspect the vim was built with 32-bit leapard OS ?
