I had a Macbook Pro stolen about two months ago and was finally able to get the money together to replace it. Now I'm paranoid about the same thing happening, especially considering that my non-Mac Desktop has a really nasty browser hijacker.

Now I'm looking to protect my new Mac. I'm planning on taking it with me and keeping it in sight as much as possible, but sometimes that's just not going to work.

Can anyone tell me if any of the laptop recovery software can outlast a reformat and if so, which ones will?

I am gnomishninja's clever signature.

This is the best one. Orbicule. Use it along with setting a firmware password on your new MBP.

Regards.
