iChat Failing...?

I have had my macbook for about 3 years, it has snow leopard, 2 gigahertz and 4gigs of ram...there is no reason why programs like iChat should fail. About twice an hour, iChat fails and i have to restart the program. Anyone have an explanation and/or a way to fix the problem?

Im having trouble with iChat too!! My iChat won't even load my buddylist. AppleCare couldn't even tell me what was wrong! I don't know what is wrong with this application. All my other Mac programs work fine.
