quicktime 7 error

whenever i try to play any media file in quicktime 7, an error dialog pops up, and says the file cannot be opened, and "unknown error occurred (-50)". anyone know whats up with this?

What kinds of Media files are you trying to play? I hope not windows Media.

Nah, .avi files don't want to play in QT 7
