iPhoto is stuck in the middle of updating a facebook album

I was updating an album on facebook from iPhoto, and it got stuck about halfway through the "updating thumbnails" step. The Candy Cane effect is still working, but it never moves, so I can't quit iPhoto, and it slows down the internet too. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Force quit iPhoto and start again. You won't lose data, or shouldn't, I never have yet.

Go to the file menu and select "force quit" then highlight "iPhoto" and click quit.
