Entourage 2004.
Someone who is part of a group in the active directory on the local network is receiving emails sent to a specific address and domain. For example: Active Directory - Universal Distribution Group - Social Events - Members - "Hayley in Graphics" Entourage - Profile - "Hayley in Graphics" Emails sent to social.events@domain.com arrive in "Hayley in Graphics" inbox. That works fine. She wants to set up a rule so that all emails to social.events@domain.com are moved from her inbox to a specific sub folder within her inbox. I don't see an option and/or a set of rule criteria that allow that. Am I being thick or were the people who wrote Entourage? Assistance much appreciated. And sincerest apologies if this is in the wrong place. |

I don't see the problem. I'm using 2008 but 2004 should be virtually identical.
Ctrl-Click the Inbox. Select Create Sub-Folder. Give it a name. Tools > Rules > Create new rule. The rule would read something like: If (any To: recipient) (contains) (social.events@domain.com) Then (Move Message) (put desired sub folder here) You may also wish to add a second criteria to the first half of the rule. This would also move any messages that social.events@domain.com is CC'd on to the desired sub-folder as well. It would be something like: If (any Cc: recipient) (contains) (social.events@domain.com) |

Assuming 2004 has all the same trimmings as 2008, there must have been a glitch in the installation. Oooooor, 2004 didn't have the option and enough people whined about it for 2008 to contain the required improvement. If anyone using 2004 can confirm whether the "To:" option does indeed exist I wuold be very grateful. Thanks for your time and effort though, Jaygray. EDIT: I bit the bullet, removed the whole thing and re-installed. The "To:" options are all there now, so something obviously went wrong with the initial install. Think I might put it on a few more of the Macs, even if I don't plan on having anyone use it. That way I at least have a point of reference should anything else of this nature crop up. Thanks again, Jaygray. Last edited by Sharp_Kid; 11-30-2009 at 07:25 AM. Reason: Problem solved |
