Mac Specs: 15-inch Early 2008; Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo; Memory 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM; 10.7.5

This is one thing I don't understand about the built in Finder. Why won't Apple totally re-code and re-design it so that it functions as these third party file manager apps do ? Why wouldn't Apple want to be on top of their game with the most basic, yet important feature of their OS ? (at least IMO)
