I'm running Thunderbird 2.0.0.23 on Mac OS X 10.5.8
Somebody has set me up with an email address using their domain/server, and I can't login. I'm getting this message: ...connection to SMTP server failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your SMTP server setting is correct... He says he's checked it at his end and it's ok, so it must be my settings. I've no idea what settings to change. Where to get the settings from. Or where to go to change the settings... Can anyone help me out with this? |

Thunderbird main menu: (at the top)
Tools, Account Settings. Follow the prompts on setting up a new account. It's the same whether it's for mail or for news. You'll need to enter info such as your name, password, etc. Pretty straight forward, just like any other mail account. Regards. |
