obscure but interesting programs

Most random but usefull programs is what im looking for...Anyone heard of salling clicker....vlc...how bout jaikoz, this are kind of obscure but interesting programs that have become quiet usefull....if you have some wierd or quierky program let me know...name-description

VLC is not that quiet, or weird.
Wouldn't be surprised if like 80% of all Mac users have it on their computer.

How about WordPerfect. Anybody still use that? When I first got my PowerBook, I wanted to install it on there but found that Pages was better.
