Firefox Lagging Fix

Found this fix for lagging on firefox.....my question is, does this seem legit?? I know nothing about proxy settings didn't know if this is a bad idea or not.....what do y'all think?

Mac Specs: White Macbook, 2.13 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB, 160GB, 9400M

I just tried it seems ok. But made no difference to me. I am already running Snow Leopard and Firefox is loading up fast for me with no problems. Then again I am no Proxy nerd at all. I used Proxy at work to remote in to others computers that's about it.

did you have lag issues?? I have bad lag while scrolling and this didnt fix it
