My Firefox (3.5.2) is using around 180-220 MB of memory most times I use it even with just 1 tab. Is that normal? It seems like a lot. Is there anyway to reduce this to a more acceptable value? And would this be cause of a memory leak?
As a comparison I checked Safari (4.0.3) and it only uses 30-40 MB of memory. WHich seems more normal for the kind of apps there are. |

How much ram do you have? I think Firefox takes a bit more ram than Safari by nature, but FF is a bit nicer in my opinion. If you only have like 256 or 512 RAM, then it's a problem. If you have 1GB or above, I think you're okay, as only about 2.2% of your RAM is being used.

Firefox is known to leak memory. Do you keep Firefox open for long periods at a time?
