direct2drive sims 3 mac dmg problems

I got sims 3 from driect2drive.com and it did come as a DMG but when i try to mount it says verification failed and a window pops up saying input/output error. i tried skipping verification and when i try installing it always freezed at 3 of 600 files. what can i do to get it to install properly.
