Is it possible to make iTunes use the LAME MP3 Encoder instead of the built-in one (whatever it is)?

'sfar as I can tell, no; you'd have to do it outside of iTunes unless there's some kind of plugin.

The last download of blacktree-itunes-lame is pretty old but I don't know if the source tree has been updated recently (my guess is no though).

Is that what you are looking for?
