However, I'm not sure why you'd need to mute Firefox... maybe if you use a web-based chat client. |

I work as a proofreader so I'm good at interpreting really badly written sentences.
![]() Your original post was very confusing because you didn't use any punctuation. It should have looked more like this: "Hi guys! I was just wondering something. On Windows, in the advanced volume control, it's possible to mute sound that comes from a certain program (e.g., when I am watching something in VLC Player but I have Firefox running in the background, I can disable sounds from Firefox). How can I do this on my MacBook?" I know a lot of people like to argue that grammar and spelling aren't so important on the Internet, but at some point it gets so difficult to understand that most people will misinterpret what you type. |

It's sir, and I don't really know. I just have a great attention to detail. I have trouble remembering "important" stuff but I have a huge repository of trivia. Grammar, punctuation, and spelling have always come naturally to me.

I don't see how the OP's post was difficult to decipher. Then again, I was an English major and an Editor, so I guess I'm also used to poorly written sentences.
