OS 10.5 - which version of html on safari

I don't know if I'm asking this the right way, but how do I find out which version of HTML Safari can 'run' (if that's the right word?). I'm just starting to learn about this and am not sure.

If you code correctly according to web standards then you shouldn't have any problems. XHTML is W3C recommended.
