What app will open an Appleworks File?

All,

My wife has a client list I maintain in appleworks. It is a (Rose's Client List [v6.0].cwk) file. I downloaded the new iWork trial thinking I could open it but it seems it wont recognize it. She has over 900 names and adresses and Im not sure what software I can use to maintain it once I get a itel mac.

Can the file be exported to another app? I use it for mailing lists etc.

It is a data base file, address list, on Appleworks 6.2.9. Is there a program that would recognize it or I could export it to. I sure dont want to retype all those addresses!

There is a bit under database in the following link, good if you want to import your Appleworks database in to Neo Office's (or Open Office) own database (Neo Office and Open Office are free)

Otherwise you could use the exported .csv, convert it to tab deliminated text using numbers or Excel and import the adddresses in to OS X Address Book

I agree - I have converted all sorts of old databases this way. NeoOffice handles CSV conversions very well.

AppleWorks runs just fine on an Intel Mac, but it is a dead end with no updates.

Once you get it out as a CSV or tab-seperated file, you could easily import it into Bento or Numbers.
