I know I should probably search through 1000 old posts to find my answer but, to be honest I just don't have the time. I DID search pretty thoroughly, but couldn't find any answers specific to my problem.

When downloading something, the pop-up window opens that gives the option of opening the file with the program of your choice, or saving it to disk with the location of your choice. Also, the choice of "do this automatically from ow on" is offered. Normally, I choose to open the file. For some reason, I chose to save the file one day, and accidentally clicked "do this automatically from now on." I need to change this option back, but I can't figure out where to do it.

Thanks to any who can help.

Here's a bump to give one lucky person a chance to answer this. I know someone has had a similar issue.

Let me see if I can figure it out. Will get back to you if I do.

Ok Got it. Open Firefox Preferences from the Firefox menu up top. The first tab is General. Look at the pic I am attaching. Check the box next to "Always Ask Me Where to Save Files". I just did that and tried a download and it worked the way you want it.
