Note Taking Software For Mac and Graphics Tablet

Hey all,
so I am an undergraduate physics student and like to take notes on my laptop, however, I want to be able to make diagrams as well as text on the fly. Is there a program that works sort like a digital notebook out there (preferably for free) that will do this for me?
