Here at MySQL :: MySQL 5.1 Downloads — Generally Available (GA) release for production use we can find different packages for Mac.
With the .dmg files (package format) there is no alternativ for PowerPC with 10.5.5, only for Intel Mac (x86).
Can I use the package Mac OS X 10.4, (PowerPC, 64-bit) even though I have 10.5.5?
(I have already installed this with no errors).

I can see that it is PowerPC packages (TAR packages) for 10.5x, but I am not sure how to install TAR packages on my mac.

Any suggestions or help?

Kind Regards
Tom Lkka
