I have XP installed on my MacBook Pro through Parallels. Is it necessary to keep up with Microsoft Updates?

Windows on a Mac, either through Boot Camp or virtualization, is still Windows. So you will need to take the same precautions you would take otherwise, which means install all of the updates and make sure you have an antivirus program installed.

I thought so but just wanted to make sure before eating up hard drive space
