iTunes won't back up my Purchases to a disk

Hi, I would like to back up my purchased music and t.v. shows to a disk, my dvd/cd drive burner is working perfectly, yet iTunes says , "Disk Burner or Software not found.". What shall I do? I would very much like some help.

You could set up a burn folder and manually drag albums on it and burn using the finder, or use the open source burn app

I would like to but I would much prefer using iTunes, and I would like to burn within iTunes in the future to!
