Apple Mail Import after rebuild - Notes gone.

Hi.
Any thoughts appreciated on this one.

I have rebuilt my Macbook (OSX 10.5) to remove all the clutter and start fresh with the only the apps I need. After setting up my e-mail accounts I chose to Import and point to my Time Machine Backup Mail Folders in username/Library/Mail/. The import has brought all my mail items in but NOT my Notes. Aaargh. I've reviewed the <DIR> structure and filenames but can't seem to locate them.
