I recently used the CD's that came with the macbook to completely reinstall mac OS X and deleting everything that was previously on my computer. I bought the iWork family pack which lets me install iWork on up to 5 computers. my question is if i install iWork again on my computer will it take away another one of the 4 remaining installs that I have left on iWork leaving me with 3 or will it recognize that it is the same computer and still be left with 4?

You aren't limited on the number of times you can install. It's the licence that's for 5 computers, not the disk.

Basically you can install it as many times as you like, but if you installed it on more than 5 computers or outside of the same household you would violate the EULA.
