So it appears Flash 9 is having problems working with OS X - after "upgrading" to Flash 9, every time I encounter a Flash site, it tells me I have a missing plugin. This happens on both Firefox and Safari. i read about a fix here but I don't understand these instructions AT ALL.

Can someone help me? This is extremely annoying and driving me nuts!!!

I have a iBook G4

Thanks!

The instructions in that link couldn't possibly be clearer than they already are. Read through them and do exactly as they say. If you can't find Terminal.app, it's in your /Applications/Utilities folder. Or just Spotlight for Terminal, and it should be the first result.

Well, okay, maybe they're clear to you but not to me.....Yes, I can find terminal....but when I try to remove the flash files (step 6) it tells me "Permission denied"

I'm lost here...anyone? PLEASE??

Try using sudo rm instead of just rm. Give it your password (you wont see it).
If it still doesn't work you're probably not admin.

I don't have problems, but why not just try Flash 10 Beta

If lacking permission on certain commands is your problem, cradom is exactly right. I would not recommend using Flash 10 Beta full-time even though it boasts awesome performance gains (speed ~on par with the Windows version on Intel Macs!), because it seems certain sites that need Flash 9 do not recognise Flash 10 Beta as a version of Flash 9 or higher. I ran into this problem with a news site, and it's why I ended up uninstalling it to use Flash 9 again.
