Yeah backup and try or put all your files in hard disk and after that insert the install disk.

or you could just stick the install disc in. you need to boot the computer from the cd to erase everything, and it wouldn't do it without your permission.

Hi,
Actually I don't think its entirely delted. First take the backup cd and then try,You can extract it from the installer cds that came with your computer.

First off, you should have a backup.
Second, inserting the system cd isn't going to erase anything without you specifically telling it to erase and then giving it permission. But could you tell us what the problem is? Individual programs rarely need to be reinstalled.

Agny,

I won't beat a dead horse with the backup things, you've already heard your earful.

Regarding your install disk, this is the OS X disk that came with your Mac, right? If so, once you insert it and bring the disk up with finder, you should see a folder or application relating to something along the lines of "Install Additional Software". This is what installs things such as iLife, without reinstalling the OS.

Good luck!

One last push!

NOTE: Thread moved to appropriate forum. Not just anything goes in Anything Goes

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!
