Is ICQ just buggy crap or what? I had to go to their site to get an ICQ# because the latest version always has something to say about "The server could not be contacted, plz try again later." It never fails, even when wanting to update my profile details.

So, I've heard that there is a way to make iChat work with ICQ but, I dunno how... What alternatives are there?

Thanks

I use Adium for my ICQ usage. Never had an issue except for last week when ICQ changed things around. Adium had it fixed in less than 24 hours. Very good chat client and team behind it.
