Look in /Applications/Utilities/ and run Console. Look for any mention of a crash.
Click on the Logs button, open ~/Library/logs and look for a X11 crash report.
Post it here and someone might be able to help.

What version of OS X are you using? You show it looking in /usr/X11/lib.
Mine has /usr/X11R6/lib. There is no libXau.6.dylib but there is a libXaw.6.dylib.

Wait, looking at the console log it shows Code Type: X86, and 10.5.2.
Don't think I can help as I'm still in Tiger.
