Hi,
This is my first post so I apologize if this question has been asked countless times.
I was wondering if there was a publishing software for mac which is similar to Publisher? I'm a fairly new Mac user but am completely converted. However, I am still dipping my toes in the mac water and not fully submerged in the mac world.
I am fairly competent in photoshop but I'd still like to have access to an easy publishing software. So far, whenever I've needed to create a flyer, poster, invite etc, I've borrowed my fiance's PC.

I'm not sure if it's important as my macbook is relatively new, but I have OS 10.4.11.

Thanks in advance for helping this mac newbie and I look forward to your replies!

Nena

Quark Xpress was the de facto DTP software - but it is expensive and I wouldn't recommend it.

Adobe Indesign is fast becoming the leader in Page layout on the Mac and PC, but comes at a cost of around $500

If you cannot spend that kinda money then Apple's Pages is a pretty cabable layout tool and comes with iWork

Otherwise, Open Source can come to the resque, Scribus is a very capable layout tool and its free

I use Swift Publisher for making flyers. You can download a free trial.

Apple Pages, part of their iWork suite, is more of a publishing application than it is a word processor. I use it for a quarterly newsletter as well as a flyer and it works very well!

I agree. Apple's iWork 2008 Pages is about as close as you're going to come to the simplicity and ease of use as you've been accustomed to with MS Publisher. You can purchase iWork 2008 from several discount web stores for around $69 or a bit more. Check Amazon and Newegg.

Regards.

No, publisher is notorious in the graphics world for being the one format that is not compatible with anything else.

You may be able to export to word, or rtf (I do not use publisher) or maybe PDF

If you have a newsletter you may be netter off just recreating the file in pages
